Day 013

Having some fun with my blog today, just added a new header image (hope everyone likes it). Gives it a more personal feel anyway I'm getting ready to head back home for a bit. I can't wait to see the family it’s always great to catch up with everyone specially my nephews’ there so much fun.

Day 012

More dream drawings...I love to have strange dreams. It's like hidden ideas floating around in my head that come out during my sleep. It can be fun or somewhat scary, but nevertheless it's always interesting.

Day 011

Dream notes: usually during the week, I write down a lot of my dreams and also draw some of the images I remember. Here's one I did which involves this huge stage and all these people I know around me, as this play is going on... I find myself getting younger and younger, while time is getting slower and slower.

Day 010

Ok, Here's another Hunter image...I just really like this type of character as I've mentioned in previous posts.
Enjoy!

Day 009

I need to make a list of all the techniques I want to work on. I really need to work on environments, since I never seem to have the desire to draw environments and work with color, which of course no one sees here. Maybe next week I’ll try to post some digitally colored pieces.

Sometimes I find myself focusing on certain things or at least things that I need to work on. Hands are interesting to me, since I think you can say a lot with them. So I did a series of drawings, just figuring out ways to capture the movement and different positions. I was trying to depict a hand grasping at something…

Day 008

Was watching the movie "King Arthur", I think every guy loves the unsung hero, fighting against all the odds. So, I started this drawing thinking of someone standing in front of many foes, ready for action. I can hear his name now... maybe something like Aramus. I've always liked that one... or Clavius... Hrmm, what are some other good names?

Day 006

Was outside hanging out with my wonderful and always a joy-to-be-around girlfriend and as we were sitting outside she was reading the book The Pirates! in an Adventure with Ahab (by Gideon Defoe) out loud to me... the book is really funny. Please anyone reading this post pick up this book - it's a must-read. So, as I was listening to her voice, many images started to fill my head... here is one of my sketches from today's activities.

Day 005

More character studies... I need to go out and do some sketchs outside while watching people.

Day 004

Was practicing some various poses... I've always loved Spiderman comics because of all the dynamic poses that all diferent artists portray him in. It's great visualizing the body rotating inside your head and then bringing that out onto paper.

Day 003

Last night I was at a sushi resturant with my girlfriend and some other friends... it was amazing! Also, they had really good jazz playing in the background which was a nice surprise. I love the whole night club scene full of all kinds of dffierent characters and their unique stories...

Trying to get ready for work, but I have a couple of drawings here for day 003. Don't we all wish we had some super-powers?

Day 002

Now, I know there are animal images on the drawing, but there are no little animals on anyone's shoulders. Oh yes, I'm slowly working my way off the whole shoulder-pet theme... it may take 12 steps until there'll be no more!

Also, my paper got smashed somewhat during the travel back to home. That's way the scan is so bad.

I seem to be having a theme going with the animals on the shoulder? hrmm. Who knows... well I guess I should know. Anyway, I guess the idea of a pet adds some sense of mystery to the character, like "what are they doing with that thing on their shoulder?" ... Ok, I'll stop now.

Day 001

I've always loved the idea of a hunter character... I think it was ever since the cartoon Dungeons and Dragons, there was a ranger on the show that had this magical bow. I loved it!

Ok, I just found out who the ranger was on Dungeons and Dragons.

"Hank (the ranger) was given a magical golden bow that although unstrung, could fire a variety of magical arrows at Hank’s will. He seemed to be the oldest, and naturally became the leader of the party. He may also have had something going on with Sheila, although this was never made clear."

Drawing made in between projects at work. Don't have much to say about this one... I like the whole little dragon pet. hrmm...

Here it starts!

I always love to draw and sketch but it seems to be on random pieces of paper lying around the house... it's nice to have them put together like a visual diary...
